Why did I study Neuromarketing?

The hype
The "neuro" fever was at its top and seemed to be the next natural step in marketing to follow. Studying the human brain's nature enhanced my understanding of how we choose and how hard it is, sometimes, to change behavior once it gets printed in our minds.

THE SCIENTIFIC METHOD
Applied neuromarketing depends on using specific tech tools (without them, you are applying theoretical neuromarketing. It's fair to mention this to a client before billing him). Some examples of these are Skin Conductance (for measuring the intensity of emotion), Face Coding (to identify the name of the emotion), and EEG (to find the areas of the brain that get activated when watching an Ad or visiting a grocery store). However, those machines are far from being democratic...

Digital marketing
Neuromarketing gives you insights. However, usually, you don't have the neuro-tools to measure the effectiveness of your communications. Fortunately, we have created an effective and cheap alternative to release the power of our imagination.
LEARNING ABOUT THE TOOLS
Almost immediately after finishing my master's studies in neuromarketing, I started to learn everything about the industry. First, I started with Facebook social media management and Ads. Then, Google Ads. On Christmas 2019, I got burned in my face with hot oil. This left me out of social scope for eight months. 2020 was a game-changer year that allowed me to go deeper into digital marketing. Taking advantage of this terrible experience, I was able to open my possibilities in a globalized market.

Before books, people were forced to memorize stories, songs, and tales to preserve memory. The books were not welcomed. They were even seen as a threat. The same happened with calculators in schools. Today, they are tools we don't hesitate to use while learning.

We might feel AI has come to take our jobs. I think AI will take some of them: the shitty jobs. How do you know you have one? Just ask how you are feeling on Sunday night. Stressed, sad, maybe eager. If that sounds familiar to you, and you are only expecting Friday to escape, you are probably investing your time in something that only matters because of money... Congrats! Probably, AI will help you with that. Otherwise, you should seriously consider taking control of your life and investing it in other ways. Time won't wait for you.
